Big Floating Sphere Of Water After Effects, Maya, mental ray September 2010
I created this shot for my New Dynamics Showreel. Ive taken reference from the final battle between Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter The Order of the Phoenix. It was a challenge for me to figure out how to start. But once I got that first push of the start I went headon into this simulation. It was a great experience creating it. I used HDRI based lighting.Finally with some compositing and color correction using The Foundry Furnace which is available in Nuke The Foundry for the CC and I got this output.I used Autodesk Maya 2011 for the mesh and particles simulation.For texture editing I used After Effects. Compositing was done in Nuke X The Foundry.
It was a great experience. I truly fell in love with this simulation.
